The then choir had a strength of around 40 members, and we have come a long way since and boast of an overwhelming 60+ member choir today. With members as young as 11 years to some as old as 60 years. We are intensively and rigorously trained by the able Choir Master Mr. Vinod Simon, since the early times, to sing both Devotional songs and Liturgical Hymns in Four Part Harmony and Acapella.
The Celestial Voices has won number of accolades in this span of time. By the Grace of Our Good Lord, we have astonishingly managed to secure a position in every competition that we have participated in. A glimpse on our achievements on ( the page ).
The Celestial Voices is the church choir of St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Koyambedu. We are an independent choir since the year 2006, the year in which this church was consecrated, before which we used to group along with the choir members of other church parishes
However, the inception of celestial voices had already happened way back in July ‘94, when the group came together to sing for a wedding in September ’94. The choir religiously met on every Sunday, for the next two months. And it was at one such practice session that they came up with the name “THE CELESTIAL VOICES”.
